Interactive lessons: Irish poets
Skoool.ie contains a series of engaging interactive lessons for Junior Certificate English.
The lessons consist of multimedia readings of twelve well-known poems covering a
broad selection of poets and themes.
Each poem is accompanied by a lesson which help students learn how to approach
and understand the poems and the literary devices used in poetry.
There are eight parts to each lesson. The last two contain a biography and glossary.
The first six parts address the poem itself:
a reading,
paraphrase,
themes
imagery,
- aspects of language and
- points to ponder.
Six of the poems are by Irish poets.
